Professor Marc Lamont Hill’s UN speech on International Day of Solidarity with Palestinians

wonderful, bracing speech by Marc Lamont Hill warning us against the politics of respectability, making clear the connections between black liberation and palestinian freedom (what fred moten so beautifully calls the “blackpalestinian breath”) and urging us to expand and strengthen our struggles by embracing transnational solidarity. i was lucky to meet marc when he was here in rochester earlier this year – i thanked him for his courage to speak truth to power.

[about the title of this video: “from the river to the sea, palestine will be free” means justice for palestinians in israel, the west bank and gaza. calling for equality is usually not considered controversial.]
