Gaza weeps

Caroleen Marji Sayej on May 14th:

Gaza weeps. The world falls silent. Two million civilians who occupy an “open air prison” were protesting for their right to live; they were greeted with Israeli snipers.

Netanyahu callously called this day a “glorious day,” as dozens of Palestinian civilians perished under his watch.

Today was a dark day, not because of the move of the US embassy to Jerusalem. That was a confirmation of reality and the death of the peace process. That ship has sailed long long ago.

It was dark because of the discussions on the event:

How has Hamas used the protests to further its agenda?

What was Israel supposed to do when people were breaching its border (yes the reporting referred to “people”)?

How is Israel going to cope with the existential threat it faces from Iran?

And so on.

The depth of ignorance and level of bias (either wittingly or unwittingly) were off the charts. No regard for international law or acknowledgement of the humanity of Palestinians.
