July 5: In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the 37-year old #AltonSterling was shot point blank while being restrained because he was selling CD’s in front of a grocery store and was mistaken for the wrong person.
July 6: In Falcon Heights, Minnesota, the 32-year old #PhilandoCastile was pulled over for a routine traffic stop and as he was grabbing his license he was shot dead in front of his fiancée and daughter.
Why is the US still celebrating Independence Day on the 4th of July while from west coast to east coast, from north to south, the police is behaving like an occupying army in Black and Brown communities, making hashtags of people of color every 24 hours?
