“John Brennan told the Senate intelligence committee Thursday that CIA has no evidence of a connection between Omar Mateen and the Islamic State.”
— this after journalist Max Blumenthal reported the Orlando Police Department rejected their Freedom of Information request for the audio of Omar Mateen’s 911 call (in which he allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS) whilst already having shared the supposed details of the call with reporters. In the San Bernardino case too the connection to ISIS was tenuous (an alleged “like” on some FB page) and later withdrawn. The trick is to repeatedly create a link in the public’s mind. It’s easy. No one has to apologize (or take the blame) for the brutal and bigoted consequences.
