From my friend Polly Miller: Throwback Thursday: My little Rochester Against War tent in Crawford, TX at Camp Casey. I spent most of August, 2006 with other activist from around the world. We went in support of Gold Star mother, Cindy Sheehan. Cindy returned to Crawford, TX to confront President G.W. Bush about the senseless loss of her son (and the sons and daughters of thousands of other parents) in the Iraq War. My darling friend Catherine Smith loaned me the tent, the wonderful Mara Ahmed created the Rochester Against War banner. I did two Counter Recruitment Teach-Ins thanks to Geoff Millard and Zachary Single-Payer. The experience was life changing for me. Sadly, since then, the world has lost so many sons and daughters to the senseless wars. Let us all work to end the next war.
