an excellent bbc documentary about the history of scientific racism. it discusses slavery and abolition, imperialism and the white man’s burden, the deadly mix of missionary “civilizing” and large scale theft of land which led to the extinction of indigenous peoples, preventable famines which killed 30 million indians during the british raj, social darwinism and the connection between class and race, american eugenics and how they inspired genocidal nazi policies, the links between german death camps in namibia and the idea of bureaucratized mass murder as it was revisited in the middle of europe. pls watch.
