Judith Thurman on Alexander McQueen: Audio Slide Show

am seriously tempted to go to nyc AGAIN just to see this.

Judith Thurman writes about “Savage Beauty,” a retrospective of Alexander McQueen’s two decades in fashion, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Andrew Bolton, the curator of the Met’s Costume Institute, has assembled a hundred ensembles and seventy accessories in “a shamelessly theatrical exhibition that unfolds in a series of elaborate sets,” Thurman writes. Here she discusses McQueen as a confessional poet who uses couture as a medium of self-revelation. More here.
