Muhammed Malik: Congratulations to the people of Jackson, Mississippi! Just heard the news that Chokwe Antar Lumumba won the primary election for Mayor. Electoral campaigns rarely excite me but Jackson is a notable exception. Tonight’s win is welcome news for all of us across the South and for people across the nation who are looking for political leadership that is rooted in the grassroots (such as Malcolm X Grassroots Movement) and guided by a transformative vision.
