Linda Sarsour is one of the organizers of the #WomensMarch in Washington DC. As expected, she’s under attack right now (v actively so on Twitter) for being a strong, intersectional, Palestinian American, Muslim feminist. Amnesty is standing with her and urging everyone to tweet their support.

Remi Kanazi: Since they can’t minimize the Women’s March, right wing folks are writing hit pieces and gathering their followers for online abuse against Linda Sarsour. It’s critical to stand up against this patently anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian, misogynistic, right wing smearing. Silence only strengthens the tactic. #IMarchWithLinda

Sana Saeed: To be a Muslim woman with an unpopular opinion in the public in this country is a small act of resistance. I cannot count how many incredible Muslim women I know, from all walks of life, who are vilified online daily for simply sharing their thoughts, their truths and their insights. Having a support network is important – if you don’t have it, get it. Get people who can hold you, people who can tell you the truth. Surround yourself with love and support — and don’t be afraid to unplug.

The hate that we receive is part and parcel of the bigger evil of unafraid misogyny mixed in with unabashed anti-Muslim bigotry. This is an everyday reality for a lot of Muslim women out there right now who are being themselves, unapologetically, everyday in the face of hate and dehumanization. This isn’t a unique experience – it is, often, the experience.

Solidarity with and love to every single one of them – seen and unseen, heard and unheard. #IMarchWithLinda
