“In light of recent political events, we have drafted a petition to Chancellor Zimpher and the SUNY Board of Trustees asking that they declare all SUNY locations to be Sanctuary Campuses. We ask that they take concrete steps to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families of different races, religious backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, disabilities, and immigration statuses. Over 100 colleges and universities across the country are already initiating this process.
