Glenn Ligon talks about his work

Glenn Ligon talks about the layers of history, meaning, and physical material of three of his works: Untitled (I Am a Man), Untitled (negro sunshine) and Double America. The first is inspired by a Civil Rights era photograph, the second is taken from a line written by Gertrude Stein and the third is a play on the opening lines of a Charles Dickens novel. Brilliant stuff. Watch here.
