Che Brandes-Tuka: I am not going to share the photo of the suspect in the Dallas shooting in a Dashiki with his fist up, as the media uses it to try and associate him with the movement for Black lives to put a stigma on that movement despite reports of him telling the police that he was “not affiliated with any groups”.
This, wearing his uniform, is the true face and origin of his violence: trained and conditioned by US imperialism.
I can’t imagine how damaged this man must have been to do something like this, from his experience of being a Black man in America to having to shoot Brown people for the white man in Afghanistan.
But this is what the media will conveniently look over; that violence begets violence, or, as Malcolm X once said, chickens come home to roost. America’s wars abroad have always been paired with wars at home.
