on the one year anniversary of israel’s prolonged attack on gaza, glenn greenwald interviewed max blumenthal about his book “the 51 day war.” it’s an extremely informative interview in which max talks about the stories of the people he encountered in gaza during the attack, he describes the gaza strip as a “ghetto of children” and “a warehouse for the surplus humanity that cannot be a part of the self-proclaimed jewish state,” he compares the uprooting of 800,000 olive trees to entire family trees being wiped out, he provides a much needed military history of the al-qassam brigades and their approach to resistance, he describes the warmth and generosity of the 100,000 homeless “rubble people” who live in tents next to the rubble of their own destroyed homes and the impeccability of their character, and finally he talks about his own journey as an american jew and his disillusionment with beltway liberalism. there’s so much here. pls read the transcript here.
