“Three people intervened in the white supremacist attack on two Black and Muslim 16 year old women on Portland public transit last week. Two were murdered by the white supremacist they confronted; one, a young autistic slam poet, is in critical condition, recovering from being stabbed in the neck by the white supremacist. Thinking of the ways autistic folks are stereotyped as emotionless and without empathy, when actually one of the hallmarks of neurodiversity is a fierce passion for justice and commitment to solidarity with people who are being attacked.” More here.
