In order to decolonize, Canadians and Americans have to re-imagine themselves, not as citizens with the privileges conferred by being descendants of colonizers or newcomers from other parts of the world benefitting from white imperialism, but as human beings in equal and respectful relation to other human beings and the natural environment.
